Him

It's amazing how much I have come to care about him in such a short space of time,
I've known him forever, we've been friends for so long,
But lately it's so much more than that.
I don't really know how to express it in words,
Except to say that I am a much better person for having him in my life.
He keeps me centred, he makes me whole.
I love him so much more than he knows.

London Calling...

I'm back in London, again!!! It hardly feels like I left, but it's great to be back. I'm here for work blah..blah...blah..but I'm sure I can fit in some play. The flight over was also soooo much better than my last one. I'll never fly American Airlines again, BA is so much better. From the terminal at JFK till the minute you arrive at Heathrow, the whole experience is much less painful.

The most difficult thing about coming home though, is trying to fit everyone in with such limited time....juggling family and friends...here goes nothing!

Just as the PTSD brought on by the shock of my re-immersion into winter was reaching catastrophic proportions, I came across this promo for X3! I am currently so excited, I cannot sit still. There is nothing like seeing superheroes from comics you read all your life brought to the big screen. It's dazzling. I hope the movie lives up to it's promise, but even if it doesn't...I've been sufficiently impressed by the power of make-up!

Apologies for the long absence, it's been an eventful couple of weeks. It started with an event hosted jointly by the British Consulate and Vogue magazine, and ended up with a trip ti La Jolla, CA for s series of meetings:) Despite the torrents of snow, I'm in remarkably high spirits as it's been quite a ride. I have never seen New York look like this, its buried under 2 feet of snow....the thought of subway ride home is giving me chills already!!

I took this photograph of my brother this christmas in Lagos because I had nothing better to do with myself while I was stuck in traffic. It wasn't until I got home and started uploading the pictures that I appreciated the intensity of the image. The thing about my brother is that his eyes tell you everything you need to know about him. He is one of the sweetest, most sensitive guys I know....even if he isn't aware of it. I see it in the way he hugs my mum, and the way he picks my 2-year old cousin up and tosses her in the air.

He's had a few curveballs thrown his way, and is now learning how to deal with them. It actually scares me to see that he is now coming into his own. Pretty soon he won't need my help anymore. I'm having to accept that he isn't really my baby brother anymore..and he doesn't need me to baby him. But on the the other hand this promises exciting things. The knowledge that I can rely on him and he will be there for me, no longer as a boy..He is now a man. Happy birthday Ladi. You know how much I love you, I always have and I always will!
