Gutted!!

I just want to say for the record that X3:The Last Stand is perhaps the most disappointing superhero movie I have ever seen. (Batman and Robin doesn't qualify as it is barely a movie, besides George Clooney as the Caped Crusader???? nuff said). I haven't wasted my precious eyesight on Catwoman so I cannot comment.

I eagerly awaited the release of X3, even dusted off my X-Men and X2 DVD's to set the mood. Broke out some comics and haunted every forum imaginable to get into the spirit of things and imagine how I was going to be blown away by this Dark Phoenix storyline. I'm not even going to tell you about the crapness...you have to see for yourself (did you catch the mini-fanwank?) I will however say that I went, I saw and I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

lol...i dont agree ohh! there are dozens of super hero movies that will leave you wishing you had enough common sense to see that flying and swinging vigilantes should stick to flying swinging and vigilanteing and not acting.
X3 was the worst of the trilogy but it wasn’t a bad movie. Sure Vinnie Jones (juggernaut) shouldn’t have been in it and there were loads and loads of relationships within the movie that were left underdeveloped but I think that leaves it open for more episodes. (Apparently there’s a spin off for a wolverine franchise).
I’ve said this on several blogs now and I’m sure everyone someone is about to tell me to shut the hell up, but tell me you stayed till the credits finished rolling to see the final twist.

Yeah, I stayed to see the 'twist' and unless they have some amaaaaaaaazing explanations to offer I'm going to be royally pissed off. I'm not even sure what exactly it was that they accomplished in that movie. I will say this though, it wasn't the worst superhero movie, it was the most disappointing. It started out so well, and then after the amazing scene with death of 'you know who'(i can't really say the name without spoiling it for those who haven't seen it) the whole thing went to pot. Everything after that fell completely flat, and what the hell did they do to rogue???!!! There should be laws against that. As much as I enjoyed the special effects, they bastardised the entire X movement.

Serious, is it that bad?!!!
Oh well i will have to go and see this movie. I enjoyed the first 2 movies and have been looking foward to this one for a long time.

@nneka - you should see it. I loved the first two, i just naturally expected progression but was crazy disappointed. However the special effects are phenomenal and there is a scene between professor x, magneto and phoenix that has to be seen to be believed!!

There is no way it could have been as bad as The Hulk. that one was so bad everyones forgotten they ever made it now. i'm not a big fan of super hero movies (or movies based on books)because they never live up to my expectations

@too me to blog

True it wasn't as bad as the Hulk, but I've never really liked the Hulk. As far as I can tell he just gets angry and destroys loads of stuff, and this makes him a hero how?
Plus I've always found those shorts somewhat disturbing.

I know what you mean about adaptations, but sometimes they can be done well enough to be enjoyed as standalones, plus movies like Sin City warranted an A for adaptation from me!

HULK, CATWOMAN, BATMAN AND ROBIN, BATMAN FOREVER, DAREDEVIL, THE PUNISHER, ELECTRA, JUDGE DRED, SUPER GIRL, SPAWN...I could go on but i think the moral of the story is its really really hard to transform comics into movies...xmen-3 wasnt bad. i agree they tried to squeeze in too much into a couple of hours but hey...it didnt turn out half as bad as any of the above.
You undoubtedly are dissapointed cos you expexted alot more from the movie. the finals parts of any trilogy are always dissapointing.

Geez, i never thought i'd find someone else who shared my views on the 'taming of rogue'. I gotta say as a comic buff and rogue lover x-3 falls way below expectations. And jean grey being the most powerful mutant (a class five) aww come on!!! I wonder why Apocalypse never chose her as one of his horsemen then. Hope the wolverine spin-off goes all the way back to his war days with captain america, that's the only thing that'll get me to watch it. Plus wolverine cried way too much in x-3, what's wit that?

@annoymous..I'm glad there is someone else out there who sees the light

@too me to blog - x-men comics are definitely superior source material to the hulk, plus ratner already had the blueprint of two movies to work with so he doesn't get any allowances.

@aihammed delot - we are probably never going to agree on this, bu I think you need to go back and watch x3 again...carefull and then come back and dissect it. Explain to me how this movie wasn't bloody awful...it sucked big time. Not the worst superhero flick ever, but definitely the most disappointing.

The whole story made no sense whatsoever, you never had any clear idea what the battle was for, and the supposed bad-ass didn't left a finger until after the battle was over. Plus how is teh twist supposed to matter when you haven't been given a chance to car about any of the losses?????

Everyone thinks I'm nuts for not letting this go, but I'm telling you I'm hella mad. As far as I'm concerned, Daredevil, Hellboy and both Matrix sequels were far more satisfying movies...I still want my money back.
